From 2025 the Welsh government will begin a trial of routinely demanding your child's identifying data from healthcare providers. GPs, hospitals, opticians, mental health services, reproductive health services, dentists, etc. will be asked to hand this information over behind your back. Once the pilot is complete, requests may be extended to include further information about parents, educational contacts, and other non-medical details.
